MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 26th JUNE 2008

 

1. 1.      PRESENT: Sally Lock, Lucy Difazio,Sue Dicken,  Sonia Probert,

        Janith Small, Di. Norris, Anne Regler. Hilary Weaver, Mollie Stebbings

1. 4.      MATTERS ARISING: None

 

1. 5.      CAPTAIN’S REPORT: The new Half Way House is now erected and has been paid for by the Mens Section.  The other Sections have been asked to contribute £100 each towards the cost.  The Ladies have also been asked to contribute £100 to the cost of the new Competition White Board and to contribute toward the cost of the Honours Board printing (1/3^rd of £600)   It was agreed to pay for the Half Way House and the White Board and we would discuss further the Honours Board.

7.     HANDICAPS:  The matter of the new rules on Supplementary cards was explained – they can be used for handicap purposes – up to 10 per year – but cannot be used as qualifying cards for Competitions

1. 8.       COMPETITIONS:

8a            Secretary’s Report: Bader Trophy Qualifier was won by Steve and Anne Regler

8b            Alliance: Mendip Springs home – draw, Worlebury – home - loss

8c            Interclub: Taunton & Pickeridge away – loss.  Mendip Springs –away. Result in dispute              

8d            Ladies Friendlies:  Landsdowne away – loss.  Farrington home - win

               8e             Mixed Friendlies –Sherborne, home win

               9.     REPORT FROM GREENS & GROUNDS COMMITTEE: Nothing to report since last meeting

 

10.  GENERAL COMMITTEE: The matter of the Half Way House, Competition Board and Honours Board was discussed.  See Captain’s report.

 

11      COUNTY MATTERS: N/R

 

12     ANY OTHER BUSINESS:  Invitation Day was discussed.  There would be a £10 per head buffet, which we would all eat to-gether and not as a ‘rolling buffet’ as had been suggested by a member.  ½ way House was covered as was the prizes and raffle.
