The ladies enjoyed a fun Last of the Summer Whine competition recently. The event raised money for our Dorothy House chairty by ladies paying a fine for having a good whine during their round of golf. The competition was a Snakes and Ladders format, where stableford points scored on 'ladder' holes are doubled, but if no score is made on a 'snake hole', all points scored are then lost. Some of the ladies managed to hold all their points and some brilliant scores were achieved:
Jackie Pudney won with an amazing 57 points
Lorraine Collings came second with 52 points
Pat Pitt came third with 49 points
Some ladies who were very unlucky to lose all their points on the 18th hole were rewarded with sweetie prizes.
