On August 3rd we travelled to Bath and after a very close match we lost by four and a half to three and a half.
On August 7th we welcomed the team from Hamptworth. The result was a win by four and a half to three and a half. This was a very good win considering we had to give them in excess of 50 shots
Mendip golf club were the next team to visit us on Tuesday 15th August. Seven pairs contested a very enjoyable match but Mendip finally won by four matches to three.
On Thursday 17th August we welcomed the team from Rushmore.
After a very friendly but competitive match the Orchardleigh team reversed the earlier season result by beating Rushmore by four matches to two.
All the remaining sign up sheets are posted on the noticeboard, PLEASE support your seniors section by signing up for the last 5 matches.
For those of you who are not aware, Paul Lewis completed a hat trick of wins in the Seniors Championship and all our congratulations go out to him on this fantastic achievement.

Latest Captain's Newsletter - July 28th, 2017
Good evening Gentlemen.
Since my last message to you all the Seniors have played 3 matches - all at home.
On the 14th July our visitors were Cumberwell Park. Most of the matches were close apart from Vice Captain Jim and Teds' match which resulted in a home win of 7 and 6.
The match result was a win by Orchardleigh by 4 matches to 2.
The result of our home fixture with Bath on 20th July was another resounding win of 4 and a half to 1 and a half.
Millfield fielded a team of 10 players for our annual match on 25th July. The Orchardleigh team was captained successfully by last year's captain, Pete Maunder. The final score was a win for Orchardleigh by 6 holes.
The following day we welcomed the Seniors from Burnham and Berrow. In a reversal of the opening match of the season we were victors by 4 matches to 2.
On a much gloomier note the Orchardleigh Seniors Somerset Bowl Team travelled to Farrington on Tuesday 25th July to play against Burnham and Berrow in the quarter finals of the Somerset Bowl.
Having been knocked out last year by this team we were even more determined to beat them this time round.
Unfortunately, with the match all square, John Scott and I had to go to extra holes to decide the tie
and we were beaten on the 19th hole.
Thanks to Malcolm Lloyd and all the team members for their support, perhaps next year we can
avoid Burnham and Berrow.
All the best to all members who have entered the Seniors Championship next week and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
