Match Result v Sherborne (A) 13th June 2017.
The weather for our match on Tuesday was probably the best we have played in this year, glorious sunshine and no wind. This however did not help us to overcome a team full of players with handicaps that frankly turned out to be very suspicious!. Despite wins from Jim Worsley and Pete Maunder, John Scott and Mike Norris, we failed to pick up any more points, thus losing the match by 4 matches to 2. I would like to thank my playing partner Guy Turner for his contribution in what was a very enjoyable and friendly game.
Thanks to all the team for their support.
I would like to remind any seniors who have not entered their names for the Away Day at Oake Manor that time is running out so please put your name down for what will be a very enjoyable day out.
Regards Phil. (Capt)
Match Result v Farrington (A) 6th June 2017.
The Seniors travelled to Farrington on Tuesday 6th June . In gale force winds we managed to win 2 matches, but unfortunately lost 4 thus bringing our short winning streak to an end.
A special mention for Brian Creasey and Terry Hulbert who, in their first match for the team, managed not only to win , but Brian achieved a Hole In One on the 5th hole! Many congratulations.
Match Results v Tidworth and Bristol & Clifton
The Seniors continued their match program with a visit to Tidworth Garrison on the 31st May . In perfect conditions on a well presented course Orchardleigh proved too good for their opponents and ran out comfortable winners by 4 matches to 2.
On Friday 2nd June the Seniors welcomed the team from Bristol and Clifton for the return fixture. Four weeks ago our seniors defeated them by 5 matches to 2 .
The Orchardleigh team again proved much too strong for the visitors and ran out winners by 6 1/2 matches to 1/2.
We now look forward to our trip to Farrington on Tuesday 6th.
The sign up sheet for the away match against Sherborne on Tuesday 13th June is on the notice board. To date we still require more players.

It is good to see some new names on the team sheet, so do feel that you can come and join us – whatever your handicap. The month of May saw draws away to Yeovil and at home to Farrington, and losses at Wells and Hamptworth, but also victories at Bristol and Clifton and against the Ladies (played over 9 holes in the rain!)
Sign up sheets for the next two matches are on the notice board so PLEASE come along and join us. At the time of writing we still require one more player for the HOME match against Bristol and Clifton on Friday 2nd June at 13.00.

Match Result v Hamptworth (A). 23rd May 2017.
The Seniors travelled to Hamptworth on Tuesday. As in most of our matches we had to give shots and in this particular one nearly 100 shots!. Despite most Orchardleigh players playing to their handicaps only one pair managed to secure a victory. The match result being a victory to Hamptworth by 5 matches to 1 .The course was in superb condition and it seemed that everyone enjoyed the friendly banter both during and after the match.
At this time we still need 1 player for the Home Match against Bristol and Clifton on Friday 2nd June . If anyone can play please contact Phil Jefferies asap.
